As the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)  new designed Naira notes takes effect, the Eze Ndigbo Ifako Ijaye, Lagos State, Eze Michael Ezekwobi (Oyioma la TU Ndigbo gba gburugburu) has appealed to The Federal Government to review the limited cash withdrawal policy of the CBN.

In a statement, Eze Ezekwobi said the policy which limited cash withdrawal  to 20 thousand Naira for individual daily and 100 thousand Naira per week will spell doom for small scale business especially in the rural areas.

On the cashless policy, the Royal father lamented that only few individuals has smart phones in the villages and with poor electricity supply, those who has smart phones would find it difficult to charge their phones in other to carry out transactions.

Eze Ezekwobi added that even though the policy has it’s merits the police will favour people in the cities whereas over 70 percent of Nigerians who live in the rural areas with few banks and limited mobile line network would bear the demerits.

While commending the Federal Government for opening a section of the 2nd Niger Bridge in order to ease traffic congestion at the Yuletide, Ezekwobi appealed to motorists to drive with outmost caution so as to avoid accident on the new bridge.
