Team Imo is to slug it out with Team Anambra in the final of the 7th edition of South-East Cricket Championship tagged Chuma Anosike Cup at the Saint Peter University cricket ovals Awka, Anambra today.
Imo had in the first semi final defeated one of the two teams Anambra fielded in the competition by 54 runs.
Imo batted first and scored 126 runs  for the loss of 9 wickets in 15 overs, Ikpewe Aniekan scored 32 runs off 25 balls in 41 minutes, Onwuliri  Chukwudi scored 17 runs off 22 balls in 73 minutes .
Anambra’s 13 year-old Ifeakor Makuohukwu took 4 wickets in 3 overs, Omeifeukwu  Walter, Diobi Ebuka, Okafor Martins all took a wicket each.
In the second innings Anambra II, 72 runs for the loss for 9 in 15 overs was not  enough to cancel Imo’s 126 runs.
Team Imo’s captain, Ogbue Chukwuka Prince, described their semi final victory against Anambra II as awesome adding that it takes hard work and concentration to perform such feat. The Imo side had earlier beaten the defending champions University of Nigeria, Nsukka Cricket Team.
Captain of Anambra 1 team, Ifediora Emmanuel said his side is fully prepared for today’s final against Imo.
