It was tribute galore to Superior Evangelist Oludare Oduwusi, shepherd of Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), Council model parish 2, Ikotun, Lagos, recently, when City Plus celebrity magazine bestowed an award of ‘Outstanding Prophet of the Year 2022’ on him.
It was in recognition of his selfless service and outstanding performance in the religious sector of Nigeria. The award was presented to him in an event in the church’s auditorium by the editor of the magazine, Prince Ayo Adegboye. It had in attendance Hon. Bola Ilori, former commissioner of environment, Osun State, the congregation, friends and well-wishers, among others.
Adegboye, who stated that the sterling qualities of the shepherd necessitated the award, also extolled his outstanding leadership style in and outside the church. He revealed that, based on their research, they discovered that, among clerics, Oduwusi’s leadership role was unique and, besides, the church had witnessed astronomical growth, spiritually and numerically, within the limited time of its establishment.
The congregation and residents within the neighborhood interviewed about the awardee during the investiture also gave credence to the fact that the shepherd truly deserved the award.
Superior Evangelist Oduwusi, in his response, appreciated and thanked God for the award and dedicated it to members of the church. He said the award wouldn’t have been possible without their support. He added that it would spur him to be more steadfast and dedicated to the Lord as well as the church in general.
