Archbishop John Praise, the General Overseer of Dominion Chapel International Church, has urged Nigerians to unite and rebuild the country for the benefit of all.
Praise, who gave the charge during his birthday celebration on Sunday in Abuja said that he believed God for a Nigeria free of corruption, killings, banditry and poverty.
The cleric regretted the level of insecurity in the country but expressed the belief that God would heal the land and restore peace to the country.
“I’m believing God for a great nation free of killings, banditry and pain; a nation where politicians will be afraid to steal, where leaders will be credible and lead the nation to greater heights.
“I want to ask politicians not to manipulate elections in 2023; I want politicians to allow the people to elect their leaders.
“This is because when the people elect their leaders, the leaders become responsible to the people,” he said.
Also speaking at the event, John Cardinal Onaiyekan, Archbishop Emeritus, urged Christians to be Christ-like and not just Christians of lip service.
Onaiyekan charged Christians to be like trees that bear fruits, warning that by not bearing fruit, they could provoke God to curse them.(NAN)
