From Ndubuisi Orji, Abuja

A coalition of lawyers, Civil Society Organisations, youth groups has said there is an alleged plot to frame-up the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele for alleged terrorism financing.

The group under the aegies it Coalition of National Interest Defenders, said those behind the plot has allegedly filled a suit against the CBN boss before a Federal High Court, Abuja.

The convener of the coalition, Tochukwu Ohazuruike, who spoke at a press briefing, in Abuja, on Monday, said the aim of the suit is to force Emefiele out of office as CBN governor.

Ohazuruike, who faulted the claims against the CBN boss, said if actually he was guilty of the charge against, the Department of State Services ( DSS) would not have allowed him ” anywhere near the President.”

He added that the fact that Emefiele was part of President Muhammadu Buhari’s entourage to Washington DC recently, is an indication that claims against him are incorrect.
