Is there anyone writing a book about those who have excelled in Nigeria’s construction sector? Such a book wouldn’t be completed without the mention of Hakeem Alobo-Bakare. As a socialite, politician and businessman, Alobo-Bakare has remained an inspiration to many who have been wowed by a string of successes he has recorded in many sectors of the economy, especially in the construction sector where he has become a household name. The Lagos State-born dude is also one of the country’s nouveau riche with an even bigger social reputation. His Ikoyi, Lagos home is a Mecca of sorts for different calibre of people who besiege his crib seeking one favour or the other.

It was learnt that when Alobo-Bakare started, not many actually gave him a zilch chance of survival. He however confronted his challenges with a resolve to succeed. And indeed, the tall, gangling gentleman beats all the odds and has successfully etched his name in the sand of times albeit with no noise about his success. Nevertheless, a goldfish, they say, has no hidden place; as the Construction guru is having a date with the history.

Spotlight learnt that in recognition of Alobo-Bakare’s outstanding success in his vocation and in appreciation of his valuable and unselfish contributions to public service for the benefit of humanity, Oba (Dr.) Adeyemi Adekeye, JP, the Oba of Jogaland and Oba Francis Olushola Alao, the Oba of Orile-Igbon would be conferring on Alobo-Bakare two prestigious chieftaincy titles of Otunba Bobajiro of Jogaland and Bashorun of Orile Igbon respectively come January 2023. It is important to note that Alobo-Bakare harbours deep disdain for doing things in half measures, thus he is said to have put a committee in place to make the day of the coronation a huge success.
