Cormart Nigeria Limited, a subsidiary of the Tropical General Investments (TGI) Group and a leading chemical and food raw materials supplier in Nigeria, has said that it will commence the production of sandwich panels in January 2023.
The Business Development and Strategy Manager of Comart, Samuel Olarinde, said that local production of the panels would help to address the challenges of foreign exchange and other issues faced by customers because of importation.
Sandwich panels are structural composites that consist of a low-density insulating core sandwiched between two layers of skin, typically made of steel or aluminium. They are used in constructions where superior thermal insulation, high strength-to-weight ratio, humidity control, and strict hygiene requirements are required.
Olarinde assured that the panels would be made of high quality materials to meet international standards. He said, “The sandwich panels will be produced using state-of-the-art technology with quality materials sourced from the best in the industry. We will match import standards to reduce the difficulties of FX and other supply chain issues for customers in Nigeria and other West African countries.”
Further highlighting the potentials of the panels in the poultry industry and other industries, Cormart’s Managing Director, Martin Middernacht said that it would improve production capacity to help bridge demand gap, boost import substitution and improve the economy.
