Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate Local Council Development Area, (LCDA), Hon Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira has charged members of the local government chapter of the Lagos State Tradesmen and Artisans Association to be professional in projecting their trade to prospective clients.

Apatira made the charge at the end of the year Artisan Day held at the Council Secretariat in Lagos.

The programme, organized by the artisan association, was kicked off with a solidarity walk, where the chairman joined over 500 members of the association.

At the event, Apatira restated the need to sensitize members of the union on their roles to get themselves involved in all political undertakings that have to do with their lives and businesses.

The council boss said his administration would continue to raise the bar in service delivery, saying the empowerment initiative was part of the programme to make the artisans independent.

“I urge all members of this noble organization to redouble their efforts in projecting the association positively to the world.

“When you come together as one big family, nobody can infiltrate you. You get things done so easily and your success as an association lies in being professional at all times.”

Chairman of the association, Ibrahim Adebayo Lawal, said the chairman’s efforts at empowering members of the association would strengthen the bond and further secure the future of many of the members.

He urged members to support the initiative of the local government boss geared towards promoting the business and prospects of Itire-Ikate Local Council Development Area.

The event featured an empowerment programme during which Apatira gave tools to the artisans.

Hon Apatira, his wife and other dignitaries were honoured with awards of excellence by the artisans. Former chairman of the association, Mr Rasheed Adeoye was made patron of the association, while Mrs Kikelomo Joshua became the matron.
