The hope of Super Eagles striker, Kelechi Iheanacho to secure a successful transfer to Leicester City from Manchester City may have hit the rocks as a result of a tribunal sitting in Manchester which ruled against his wish in the battle over his image right.
According to owngoal.com, US Based First Eleven are in court with Iheanacho’s preferred management team Stellar Group over his image right, with the City forward approaching the court to validate his decision to terminate his contract with First Eleven.
The 20 year old handed his ‎image right to the company in July 2015 when he clocked 18, although First Eleven claim to have been managing his image rights since 2013.
Per a ruling by a tribunal in Manchester, ‎Iheanacho’s plea to have his contract terminated with First Eleven in favour of a switch to Stellar group was rejected by the club, with the US based company also confirmed by the court as the real owners of his image rights.
The ruling has put a halt to Iheanacho’s proposed 29 million pounds (about N8.1billion) move to Leicester City from Manchester City which was brokered by Stellar group, and not the management team confirmed by the court.
However there are chances that the case will be settled between the parties for the sake of his move to Leicester City to come to pass, Owngoalnigeria.com gathered from sources close to the player.
