The National Industrial Court, Abuja, has fixed Oct. 16 for hearing of the suit instituted by one Stephen Ahmed, against the Federal Civil Service Commission.

Other respondents listed in the suit, were the Chairman, Federal Civil Service Commission and Accountant-General of the Federation.

Ahmed, an accountant, in the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, is challenging the purported termination of his appointment in February 2016.

The claimant urged the court to order for his immediate reinstatement because due process was not followed in the termination of his appointment.

The aggrieved officer urged the court to declare the purported dismissal as unlawful and grant him damages.

At the resumed hearing on Monday, the case could not go on because Mrs C. Odanwu, counsel to the third respondent, had sought for an adjournment to enable her study the case file.

Odanwu told the court that she was newly posted to the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation and would require time to study the case file.

Justice Edith Agbakoba, adjourned the suit until Oct.16 for cross examination of the claimant’s witness (CW1).

The Federal Civil Service Commission was not represented by any counsel.
