A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a member of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Joseph Agbo by the Chief Magistrate Dennis Keyinde Ekoh of the Enugu East Magisterial District for failing to appear before him.

Agbo and Mr. Okoh Chijioke Udemezue a facing charges bordering on  forgery.

The two suspects were alleged to have neglected and refused to appear in court when a case they were standing trial for was called up, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 162 of the Criminal Code Cap 30, Vol 11 Revised Laws of Enugu State of Nigeria 2004.

Agbo and Udemezue had been charged to court by the Commissioner of Police after a full and thorough investigation of the case of forgery preferred against them.

In the four-count charge, they were alleged to have forged the signatures of Messrs Emmanuel Edeonu, Ogboso Sochima and Agbodo Sunday on a resolution reached by 25 families of Umuonu Umuezeani community to counter the former and authentic resolution a national newspaper on March 20, 2016.

The charge against Agbo and Udemezue read among others in part: That you, Okoh Chijioke Udemezue and Hon. Joseph Agbo, on the 31st day of March, 2016, at the residence of Chief Joseph Agbo did conspire between yourselves to commit felony to wit: Forgery and thereby committed an offense punishable under Section 495(a) of the Criminal Code, Cap 30, Vol 11 Revised Laws of Enugu State of Nigeria 2004.
