From Abel Leonard, Nasarawa
The Chief press secretary to governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state Ibrahim Addra has berates critics who underscores his boss on performance in the last three years, noting that such people are not patriotic, bereft of information, or lacks understanding of the true situation.
The press secretary was reacting to a statement comparing the first three years of governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration to the immediate past Governor of the state, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, trending on social media space which has generated reactions across the state.
Ibrahim Addra in a statement he personally signed, made available to Daily Sun said “it is hard to say what the reason behind this adventure is but easy to see where the author is going with this”
“This comparison is lame, bereft of the ingredients that make for a palatable source of information that helps.
“Let’s face it , I agree totally that road infrastructure is important and critical to the development of any society, His Excellency, the highly respected archit inect of modern Nasarawa State, Senator Al-Makura has done a lot in this area as in others, remarkable, they were necessary then as they are today
“I however disagree that roads alone will develop a state. That position will amount to narrowing the definition and hence the understanding of development.
“The sum total of the goals of the Abdullahi Sule administration is to develop the state in an all inclusive, sustainable and holistic manner as such Engr Sule will construct roads as is ongoing today in all the Senatorial zones, build and equip schools, pay workers salaries and pension in full, attract investors , upgrade our tertiary institutions, complete projects and provide electricity” he said
To ensure development, Addra stressed that Governor Sule has trained and retraind the civil servants, promotes ICT, and had put in place processes and systems that had improved transparency and ease of doing business, encourage science and technical education, build capacity and provide employment for the youths in the state.
“Governor Sule will meet the state financial obligations and importantly spare no effort in providing security of lives and property of our people, the latter, security being the primary purpose of governance
“Excellencies Tanko Al-Makura and Abdullahi Sule are fine gentlemen who mean well for Nasarawa State.
“As a Governor, Senator Al-Makura did his best for the state, today Governor Sule is doing his utmost best for the State at a most challenging time not only for the State but for the country and world at large” Ibrahim Addra had said
Addra further reiterates governor Sule’s commitment towards continueing the construction of more roads while improving other sectors in order of priority within the available resources.
