Suspected cultists killed at least three persons, including a pastor, when they raided Ibaa community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State yesterday.

Daily Sun gathered that the gunmen, alleged to be members of the Iceland cult group, stormed the community yesterday morning. The attack was said to be a reprisal, with the group having recorded casualties from a rival cult in the area.

It was further gathered that the rival cult group in the area, Deygbam, had recently sacked them (the Icelanders) from the community and the Icelanders have been trying to regain a foothold the community.
A source noted that the three victims were innocent residents, adding that the killers might have gunned them down to cause a scare in the area.

The source said: “Iceland boys invaded our community today (Monday) and killed three innocent persons. The community is in fear as we talk now.

“The boys came this morning. They started shooting around 7am. They killed Friday Nsirim, while he was on the road, because he was a commercial motorcycle operator. They also killed a hunter at Omuobizu area of Ibaa.

“They later killed the pastor of a church, called Teke. They said the pastor prepared charms for the Deygbam boys. We are calling on security operatives and the governor of the state to intervene in the killings in our community.”
