The Minister of Youth and Sports Barrister Solomon Dalung has commiserated with the Handball Federation of Nigeria over the death of its former President, Alhaji Yusuf Dauda who died on Wednesday night after a brief illness at 61.

Dalung said the spate of deaths in the sports family was sad and worrisome.

He expressed condolences to the immediate family of the late Yusuf, the Handball Federation and other stakeholders and prayed God to grant his soul eternal rest.

The late former President of the Handball Federation was an IHF graded Referee and former Secretary General of the Referees Association. Yusuf was also a former member of the Confederation of Africa Handball (CAHB) Commission and the Nigeria Olympic Committee. At some time, he was President of the National Association of Physical and Health education (NAPHER).
