The theme of the programme was “The King has decided to honour you.” It many people from far and near. One of those who graced the occasion was the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi.  

At the event, Obi urged Nigerians to be prepared to take back their country from unproductive politicians through their votes in the forthcoming election.

Obi, whose visit to The Lord’s Chosen Revival Ministry caused a stir among worshippers at the church, urged them not to vote along ethnic or religious lines but to use their vote to take the country from subsisting misrule by spent politicians.

The former governor of Anambra State regretted the economic pains Nigerians were passing through. He described bad leadership as the worse thing that could happen to anyone, irrespective of ethnicity or religion. According to him,  the forthcoming election is a platform for Nigerians to make use of and return the country’s past glory by voting the right candidate who has the capacity to turn things around.

He lamented that Nigeria was a great country but its leaders have made it an inhabitable place.  He said: “We want a government that will be able to provide the people with sources of livelihood, where the sons and daughters of nobody can become somebody. 

“On the day of the election, don’t leave it the way you used to. Apart from praying, we don’t want this country to continue like this. I assure you that God is going to take control of this country. We will start by electing a good leader.”

Speaking also during the programme, the general overseer of the church, Pastor Lazarus Muoka, urged the people to continue to serve God, and He would honour all those who  serve Him faithfully. He said: “God will reward them with good things. God will give you gold and not bronze because you are among the first; your life shall never be cut short. God will preserve the righteous, and defend them and with heaven at last.”

He emphasised that as many as honour the invitation of God will be honoured: “God has the power to do all things; with him there is no limitation on what he does.” Therefore, he encouraged the people to keep their faith in God. He also called on Nigerians to place priority on honouring God in things, “live a righteousness life for this is the bedrock of success.”
