The Board and Editors of online newspaper, Daylight, have released the honourees list for the maiden edition of its Daylight Annual Leadership Awards (DALA 2016), which holds on Sunday, May 22, at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

According to Azu Amatus, Publisher/Editor-in-Chief, the list is made up of 15 eminent Nigerians. Azu stated that the objective of the awards is to recognise, reward and celebrate excellence among Nigerians who have excelled in various leadership positions and impacted positively both in the public and private sectors.

Said Azuh: “DALA honourees are leading role models that have aided national growth and development with their leadership roles. We are profoundly proud of them and hold them in high esteem.”

Recipients include the wife of Kebbi State governor, Hajiya Aisha Atiku Bagudu, who goes home with a plaque as Daylight Woman of the Year.

Also to be honoured is presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina.

Adesina, a two-time president of the Nigerian Guild of Editors and former MD of The Sun Newspapers will be decorated as Daylight Newspaper Most Outstanding Media Personality of the year.

Others are Emeka Mba, Ken Calebs Olumese, Stephanie Okereke-Linus, Chinedu Ikedieze (Aki), Osita Iheme (Pawpaw) Monalisa Chinda-Coker,  Sam Kargbo, Okey Bakassi, Raw Nwanne, Yaw, Chief Allen Onyema and Tajudeen Adepetu among a host of others.

Azu added that the awards will kick-off at 4pm with a Green and White Carpet event.
