The International Federation for Para-Swimming has given the National Paralympic Committees (NPCs), National Federations and International Organisations of Sport for the Disabled (IOSDs), a deadline of April 30 to submit feedback.

The body is carrying out a full review of its current rules and regulations.

Tracy Glassford, Manager of World Para Swimming said the aim of the consultation was to involve members of the sport in the review.

“I encourage everyone, especially National Federations, coaches and swimmers, to submit their suggestions to their National Paralympic Committees, so that they can be passed on to us.

“We are very keen to hear from the community to ensure that both the technical and classification elements of Para swimming are the best they can be.

“By so doing, we can keep making improvements,’’ Glassford said in a statement on the International Paralympics Committee (IPC) website, on Wednesday

It added that all relevant organisations have been provided with information on how to submit their feedback, while national federations, coaches and athletes should contact their NPCs.

It said all feedback will be reviewed in consultation with its Sport Technical Committee, Classification Advisors Group, Technical Advisory Group and the IPC’s legal, medical and scientific departments.

Both updated classification and technical rulebooks will be published in December 2017, to come into effect on Jan. 1, 2018. (NAN)
