Member of the House of Representatives, representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajora Federal Constituency of Oyo State, Shina Peller, to bring to book those behind the murder of Deborah Samuel.
Deborah, a 200 level student of the Shehu Shagari College of Education, in Sokoto State, was murdered by a mob in Sokoto for alleged blasphemy.
However, Peller, while speaking at an event to mark his 46th birthday, in Abuja, said no one can fight for God. He noted that it is insane for anyone to think he or she can fight for God.
The lawmaker stated that there is need for peaceful co-existence between Christians and Muslims, noting that God should be the judge of any wrong committed against His name.
According to him, “God created heaven and hell for a purpose and God should be the judge. No man can fight for God. It is insane to think you can fight for God. Even Mohammed, saw, preached peaceful existence among us humans.
” So, for no reason should we take laws into our hands. And I implore the Federal Government and security agencies to make sure that whoever and anyone behind that should be brought to book.”
On the 2023 polls, Peller said the country needs a younger president, who is energetic, detribalized and successful in both the private and public sector.
He added” we need to pay attention to fairness, equity and justice. And for this reason, there should be a President from the South. There should be a President that probably should be Christian and as you see I am a Muslim…
“In this administration, we have three arms of government. The Executive arm of government, President Muhammadu Buhari is a Muslim, tbe legislative arm, Gbajabiamila and Lawan are Muslims, the judiciary, we have Tanko Muhammed as a Muslim. Where is the true share of the Christians…”
