With the rich getting richer, some wealthy people have no problem showing just how much money they have even amidst the squalor state of their communities. In the last one week, Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi, the Deputy Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, seems to be dragging the social media space with entertainers. On Thursday, February 12, the young lawmaker formally opened an eye-popping mansion in his sleepy hometown of Beneku Community in Ndokwa East, Delta State. The architectural masterpiece crib, said to have gulped scores of millions of naira, was commissioned by the Delta state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, supported by the former governor of the State, James Ibori.
Spotlight gathered that the sheer size and interior designs of the new mansion and the fleet of luxurious automobiles including two brand new (White and Black) Bentley Mulsane and Rolls Royce left many including the former governor Ibori gobsmacked. To also celebrate his new mansion and the luxury autos, Osanebi dragged top musicians like Duncan Mighty, Joe Praise, Chioma Jesus and comedians like I Go Dye, Gordons, Frank De Don, Frank The Drunk and a whole lot of entertainers to Beneku. Last year, the 38-year old lawmaker sent tongues wagging when he surprised his wife, Ogechi, with a customised 2018 Range Rover SUV and a duplex as her birthday present. He is also known to love lavishing expensive gifts on Nigerian celebrities. Of course, tongues have been wagging over the source of Osanebi’s stupendous wealth. In his first term in the House in 2011, Osanebi was made the House Committee Chairman on DESOPADEC. He was later appointed Chairman, Inter-parliamentary Matters and then Deputy Chief Whip of the House before being elected the Deputy Speaker in the present dispensation.
