Worried  by frequent attacks of herdsmen on indigenes of host communities across the state, the leadership of Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers, has called on the Federal Government to adopt a more decisive military action against Fulani herdsmen.

In a five point communiqué issued at the end of the council’s meeting in Asaba, its chairman, Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor II, said the excesses of the herdsmen must be curbed and security restored in the communities affected by the negative activities of the group.

They condemned, in very strong terms, the effrontery with which the herdsmen  kidnap, kill and maim innocent Nigerians, saying that the situation had to be reversed through the adoption of aggressive and collaborative approach by stakeholders and security agencies.

The royal fathers commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for the prudent application of scares resources and equitable distribution of projects across communities in the three senatorial districts of Delta State.

Besides, they appreciated the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Zanna Ibrahim for providing security for members of the council and appealed to various communities in the state to take security seriously in order to stamp out crime and criminality from the society.

The meeting was attended by the first vice chairman of the council and Orodje of Okpe Orhue I and the second vice chairman who is also the Pere of Akugbena mien , SP Luke Kalanama VIII among  others.
