President Muhammadu Buhari has assured supporters of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Delta State that security challenges would be addressed, so that they can vote whichever party they want, on Saturday.

The president also pleaded with APC memebrs aside their differences and work for the party’s victory in the governorship election.

Speaking at an interactive session of all APC stakeholders at the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, yesterday, the president, who was represented by his deputy, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, said victory can only be achieved at the polls when party members are united to chart a common purpose.

The president promised to tackle security challenges raised by cross section of party faithful who bared their minds on some of the issues that impeded free and fair presidential polls in the state on February 23.

“We have heard your complaints about the security challenges you faced during the last elections and, I can assure you that this shall be addressed in the next election.

“It is the responsibility of the Armed Forces to ensure that you be allowed to exercise your franchise, wherever you are on the day of elections and, this we are committed to achieving during Saturday’s polls.

“I’ve taken note of all you said during this interactive session and, I assure you that I’ll report back every detail to the president and I am very sure he would act on them; one after the other,” the vice president stated.

Earlier, in his speech, APC National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, thanked party supporters in the state for their resilience during the presidential/National Assembly elections which had improved the fortune of the party in the state.

He was particularly grateful to party supporters for being able to garner about 250,000 votes for the president, which he said represented about 500 percent of the total votes cast in the state.
