Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Henry Ebireri, on Thursday, accused online publishers in Sapele of writing a new script aimed at pushing falsehood into the public domain.
“I wish to take exception to the position of some of these Facebook critics of the speaker in Sapele. These mischief-makers outing out the script of their sponsors displayed a new height of perfidy by claiming expertise, vain glory and ignorance in the electricity situation in Sapele.
“Rt. Hon Monday Igbuya is interested in the drop in electricity supply in Sapele”.
Ebireri invited the good people of Sapele to note that there was no time the speaker had any conversation with the faceless online publishers to the effect of the negative publication.
He accused these individuals of making blackmail their tool of trade,
“These detractors deliberately refused to tell the public the truth. They want to rubbish the achievements of the speaker in Sapele”.
He praised the speaker for his excellent performance.
“The truth is that Rt. Hon Monday Igbuya led the protest that resulted in the step down power plant that Sapele people are enjoying today. He also took the grievances of the people to the doorstep of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC). This led to a special stakeholders meeting in Asaba to proffer solution to the worsening electricity situation in Sapele. At that meeting Igbuya not only criticised the deluge of excuses of non-performance of BEDC but called for an end to the epileptic power supply in Sapele. Several meetings geared towards improving power, has taken place afterwards”
“Sapele people are suffering. There is a state of uncontrolled anger among our people. We want 24-hour electricity supply” the CPS said
Ebireri called on the good people of Sapele not to fall victim to the evil antics of these men of darkness who have been blinded by their selfish agenda.
