Paul Osuyi, Asaba

Mr. Frank Agas, immediate younger brother of the Secretary to the Delta State Government, Festus Ovie Agas, has led his supporters to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Also on the defection train was Prince Bright Oharisi, a cousin to a member representing Ughelli North Constituency II at the House of Assembly, Eric Oharisi.

This is coming barely one week after former prominent leaders of APC in the state, including the party’s running mate to the 2015 governorship candidate, Mr. Vanderpuye Abanum, led their teeming supporters into the PDP.

The younger Agas and Oharisi who dumped the PDP separately, at Oteri and Otovwodo, respectively, in Ughelli, vowed to work at cross purpose with their brothers in the PDP-led state government, to deliver APC in their wards in the 2019 general elections.

Agas cited what he described as none performance of the PDP-led administration in the state, as his reason for defecting, while Oharisi said he and his group, Delta Interest Group (DIG), had never been rewarded for their years of labour and support for the PDP.

They said APC was endeared to their hearts by the developmental strides of the Executive Director of Projects (EDP) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Samuel Adjogbe, particularly, in the area of road construction and renovation of schools in the council area.
