Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has urged the Nigerian Army to expedite action on fishing out soldiers who allegedly killed a Government House photographer, Mr Reginald Dei, and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), one Mr Taribi.   A statement by his Special Adviser on Media Relations, Mr Fidelis Soriwei, said the governor made the demand when he led a state delegation to condole with Dei’s family in Yenagoa over the tragic incident.   According to the governor, Dei and the PDP Ward Chairman, Taribi, were brutally gunned down in their hometown, Oweikorogha in Southern Ijaw by soldiers supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the February 23 presidential election without any provocation.   Dickson, who expressed sadness and pain over what he described as wrongful death, assured the family that the state government would do everything within its reach to ensure that justice is served.   He reiterated his call on President Muhammadu Buhari to stop leaders of the APC in the state from using federal security agencies to allegedly harass, maim and kill innocent people under the guise of politics.

Earlier, spokesman of the Dei family, Mr Temple Igonikeme, expressed gratitude to the governor for the visit.
