Consistent with its commitment to effective healthcare delivery across the country, a Peter Obi support group, Doctors for Peter Obi has launched “Save the Brain” project, an Initiative to rescue children with serious brain problems needing brain surgery.
According to Dr. Segun Ebitanmi, the Convener and National Coordinator of Doctors for Peter Obi, PubMed, a reputable resource for biomedical and life sciences states that about 1% of Nigerians (2million by current estimates) have a chance of developing Brain Cancer in their lifetime.
He further stated that “at any point in time there are over 1million Nigerians with undiagnosed and undetected brain cancer. Other problems relating to the brain include brain injuries and blockage of the conduction system in the brain. Most of these problems can only be solved by highly skilled brain surgery, available only in a handful of centres in Nigeria.” It is against this disturbing data that Ebitanmi stated that “Doctors4PeterObi through its Specialty Surgery Group is launching a “Save the Brain” initiative to save many of these victims.”
The Doctors for Peter Obi convener also added that of the 7613 doctors across the world in the Doctors4PeterObi Movement, over 50 are Specialist Brain Surgeons.  “The Doctors4PeterObi NeuroSurgery group, a group of over 20 Brain Surgeons led by a Professor of Neurosurgery, will operate on selected candidates with brain pathology and restore their brains to health. For eligible candidates, the procedures will be TOTALLY FREE,” he assured.
Dr. Segun Ebitanmi urged eligible candidates to reach Doctors4PeterObi “Save the Brain” initiative through Phone or whatsapp on 08067644530, 08063286165, or visit their website, www.docs4peterobi.com.
The Doctors4PeterObi was convened on June 11 2022 by a group of passionate and dedicated doctors. They have carried out, in conjunction with partners, over 48 Medical Outreaches. The outreach in Taraba state covered the entire 16 LGAs and over 5000 beneficiaries were treated, according to the Coordinator.
Dr. Segun Ebitanmi, the Convener and National Coordinator reiterated Doctors4PeterObi’s “credibility, competence, capacity, and commitment to continue to make an impact in the lives of Nigerians while demonstrating the viability of the Obi/Datti ticket.” He also announced that in addition to the Doctors4PeterObi NeuroSurgery Group there are Other Specialty Groups in the Doctors4PeterObi Specialty Services Group. These according to him, include Anaesthesia, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Dental Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Ophthalmology, Pathology, Pediatrics and Neonatology, and Public Health. According to Dr. Segun Ebitanmi,” while we will continue our outreach in every Local Government Program, we will also continue to look out for opportunities to make a transformational difference in the lives of indigent and challenged citizens.”
