From Juliana Taiwo-Obalonye, Abuja 

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, former Head of State, Yakubu Gowon, former Head of National Interim Government, Chief Ernest Shonekan  were among dignitaries who joined Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, at this year’s Christmas Praise Concert held in Abuja.

Also in attendance was the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye. The event held at the State House of Conference Center (Old Banquet Hall), with governors and members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) in attendance.

Osinbajo was accompanied to the event by his wife, Dolapo Osinbajo, attended by worshippers across denominations.

The event featured special renditions from the Aso Villa Chapel Choir as well as the children choir of the church,  a Special ministration by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) School of the Blind Choir (who got a standing ovation afterwards), from Minna Choral Society Choir, Port Harcourt Male Ensemble International and combined Choir of Military and Para Military Forces. There was also special appearance by Blessing Joseph Ilagha, Nathaniel Bassey and Pastor Kunle Ajayi.

Aso Rock Chapel Chaplain , Pastor Kunle Malomo, led the congregation to pray for a better 2018 for the country and the church.  On his part, Pastor Adeboyemade references to a number of scriptures, spoke on different names of God and what each connotes in the situation of man. He led the congregation to pray for favour, healing, resurrection, power, help, promotion as salvation.The event came to a close with the “Halleluyah Chorus” rendered by all choristers as well as Felix Navidad – I wanna wish you a merry Christmas.
