Former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi has advised the Nigerian youth to remain focused in all they do and not to remain where they are dropped.
Obi, who spoke at a conference organised by the Catholic Youth Organisation of Nigeria, Nnewi Diocese, at the Okofia, Nnewi campus of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, urged Nigerian youths not to lose focus no matter the distractions that confront them in their quest for success.    He disclosed that in spite of the fact that people called him names in an attempt to force him to recklessly share Anambra State’s funds when he was in office as governor, he refused and stayed focused in delivering dividends of democracy to the people.
He noted that a committed man should not be interested in making few friends happy but rather remain focused on doing what is right and beneficial to the entire society.
Obi advised youths not to allow themselves to be used by politicians, noting that some of them send their children to schools abroad and remain at home looking for youths to use as thugs.
Speaking after the conference, the chaplain, Catholic Youth Organisation of Nigeria, Nnewi Diocese, Rev. Fr. Chetanna Jude Chukwuneke, said the programme was fulfilling, noting that it was designed to inculcate positive values on the youth through words of wisdom from men of proven integrity.
