…Warns Pinnick to beware of traitors

By GEORGE ALUO

THE Head of the INRI Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele said last week that he saw the Super Eagles’ failure to qualify for AFCON 2017 Nations Cup coming. He in fact predicted it in his yearly book of predictions, “Warning to the Nation.”

The man of God in this exclusive chat with Saturday Sunsports warned that the NFF would be embarking on another wild goose chase should she go for a foreign coach, even as he warned Pinnick to watch his back.

Enjoy the interview.

What are your takes on Nigerian football?

Let me start by saying that I don’t have any special interest in sports or football. What I want to tell the world here is what God wants me to say. This is what God has revealed to me on Nigerian football and Super Eagles in particular.

Before the Super Eagles started their AFCON 2017 Nations Cup campaign, I sent my book to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), where I clearly prophesied that Nigeria may not make it to Gabon. But my concern was that they did not take it serious, may be because the prophecy was not coming from a pastor they believe in.

But the fact is this, there will be problem in NFF and I pray the minister takes the matter serious and try to resolve it. If not, it will affect our football and Super Eagles in particular.

The NFF as a way of getting things right ahead of the World Cup qualifiers plans to hire a foreign coach. Do you think this will help the Eagles?

Not at all. Let them forget about hiring a foreign coach. Let them give Samson Siasia the job. He will give the country the results we desire. When they hired Sunday Oliseh I told the whole world that Oliseh won’t last in the team. We don’t need to go outside looking for a coach. With Siasia we will get what we want. Siasia will qualify the country for the World Cup if given the job. With Siasia we will not be doing any calculation when the World Cup qualifiers start. I told the world that Mourinho won’t make any impact with Chelsea this season. To bring a foreign coach will not help the Super Eagles. Let us use our indigenous coaches. They will perform. But Siasia should not do the job alone. The NFF should surround him with a think tank team of experienced coaches like Amodu Shuaibu, Adegboye Onugbinde, Fanny Amun and a person like Taiwo Ogunjobi. Let them come together and fashion out a blue print on how to run Super Eagles.

Nobody should toy with Nigerian football because it unites us. We show love to each other when it comes to football. I did not watch the Nigeria, Egypt match in Kaduna but that momentous crowd that watched the game shows we forget whether we are Christian, Muslim or pagan when it comes to football. Even the big men are ready to associate with the poor when it comes to football. That is the power of football in Nigeria. So, we must get it right in football.

Pinnick must be very careful. If care is not taking, they will scandalize him. He must be very watchful and extremely careful.

As I said earlier, the Eagles will qualify for the World Cup if we quickly put our house in order and let Samson Siasia lead the team. That will be the beginning of the rebuilding process for the Eagles. Under Siasia we will see a new team that can rule Africa again in the next four years.

If we want to waste money let them go and take a foreign coach. Go and mark my words, we will regret it.

Are you saying the move by NFF to hire a foreign coach will backfire like the hiring of Oliseh?

Yes. The NFF should forget foreign coach. Siasia would give us the best. Let them train him if he is lacking in any aspect of coaching. I would have said go back to Keshi, but Keshi won’t shine with Eagles again even if he is brought back. I m not talking to you as a sports analyst. No, I m talking to you as a spiritual person. The message I m passing across to you is from above.

You have any message on NFF?

Those in the Glass House must be prayerful. I see death in the Glass House, to avoid it; they need to seek the face of God. I see a probe in NFF. Those against Pinnick will do everything to disorganize the board, especially when they are planning election. People that Pinnick believe in and trust will stab him.

The present crisis rocking NFF, where do you see this leading us?

If Pinnick seeks the face of God, nothing will happen to him. There is more to the crisis. Pinnick must seek the face of God because those fighting him are powerful and well connected. Me I am talking as a prophet. Pinnick cannot dismiss his opponents with a wave of the hand.

The Dream Team, what are their chances at the Olympics?

We should not expect much from them. The team could go far if they prepare well. But if they starve them of money, forget it, they will not come back with any medal. But Nigerians should not expect a repeat of the Atlanta 96 team. Other countries are taking the Olympic soccer event very serious. It is not for amateurs. So, to go far, we must prepare well. My worry is there is so much division in our football. It is not one house. There are so many traitors and people working against the system. Betrayers are everywhere in football. That is the problem. I can see it.
