The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has urged Nigerians, especially Christian faithful, to use the period of Easter to pray for peace, unity and development of Nigeria.
Director-General of NOA, Dr. Garba Abari, who congratulated Christians for the successful completion of the 40-day Lenten period, a season of deep reflection and self-sacrifice, enjoined all citizens to pray for peace and unity, irrespective of their religious and political affiliations.
A statement by head of the media unit, Mr. Paul Odenyi, said the NOA boss also charged Christians to always display the virtues of sacrifice that Jesus Christ showed in his passion and death, while at the same time upholding the tenets of peace, love and tolerance, which are the essence of the celebration.
“This no doubt is a sacred period of reflection for self-renewal and the way to move humanity forward. As an agency, we will continue to work for the greatness of our country,” he said.
The DG charged Christians to use the season to continue to pray for the administration in power and the nation.
