As Oparanozie, Ngozi return to Europe

Injured Super Falcons defender Onome Ebi has undergone a successful surgery on her arm.

The central defender was injured in the arm during last weekend’s AWCON final against hosts Cameroon in Yaounde.

The experienced Ebi played through the pain barrier for Nigeria to clinch a record eighth title.

She underwent a corrective surgery in Abuja, but it is unclear whether the cost of the operation was borne by the player herself or the cash-strapped Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

At the just concluded African Women Cup of Nations, Ebere’s playing opportunities were sparse, with manager Florence Omagbemi preferring Ohale Osinachi, Onome Ebi, Ugo Njoku in defense.

The 25-year-old has not made a single appearance for PSG in the league after eight rounds.
