Ebonyi tackles IPOB, says pro-Biafra groups illegal
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Chijioke Agwu, Abakaliki

Ebonyi State government has said pro-Biafra groups including the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) did not exist in the state.

It also debunked reports that a counter force called “Bakassi Boys” had been inaugurated to confront Biafra agitators.

The Biafra Restoration Voice (TBRV) had claimed in the social media that the Bakassi Boys outfit was inaugurated to attack members of IPOB because of the pro-Biafra group’s opposition to RUGA settlement in the South East in general.  But the government described it as strange and untrue, adding that even IPOB did not also exist in the state.

Commissioner for Internal Security and Border Peace, Chief Stanley Emegha, who spoke to newsmen, dismissed insinuations and berated Biafra agitators for the rumour.

“This is a strange story as a far as the state is concerned, there is no security outfit that can be established in this state without the knowledge of the state government and as such there is nothing like Bakassi boys.

“There is nothing like Bakassi or Isakaba, IPOB, MASSOB or whatever you call them. People may stay in their homes based on their agitations and say they are IPOB or MASSOB or they are this or that, but they are not known in Ebonyi State because their activities are against the law of the land.

“So, there is nothing like Bakassi in Ebonyi  and there is no inauguration of such group in the state. There is absolutely nothing like that and we don’t condone it,” he said.

The so called Ebonyi State unlike other States in the South East is of course ,not a homogeneous Igbo State.
In Ebonyi State, apart from the Noble Ibom – Igbos of Afikpo ,who are dominated and marginalised by the Ohaozara-Wawa Igbos majorities, there are also the Bantu-Ntejes,
and the Ekoyi-Erei-Efiks minority of Afikpo District.
The Afikpos are Ibom-Igbos.They belong to Abia State not to the Wawa State of Ebonyi.
Sir Francis Akanu Ibiam an Afikpo man, was the civilian Governor of Biafra and as the Secretary General of the World Council of Churches, he was indeed a thorn in the flesh of Arch-Imperialist Britain that directed and financed the War of Genocide against us Biafrans.
About 90% of able – bodied Afikpo young men enlisted into our Biafra Army. They were
Biafrans heroes ,who fought like Biafrans because we Biafrans are heroes.
There is not a single family in the current Afikpo North and South Local Government Areas of Afikpo today, that didn’t lose one or two of their Noble Biafran Sons.
As an Admin. Officer of my 53 Battalion of 62 Brigade of the 12th Division of Biafran Army, I did once bury two Afikpo brothers; Lts. Micheal and Raymond Okpani Agu.
Both of them were High School students before the war like me.
May their Noble Souls repose in eternal peace.Amen!
The old Afikpo District is indeed synonimous to Biafran.
Afikpo is indeed Biafra and Afikpo Town ought to have been the Capital of Ebonyi State.
If the likes of Chief Stanly Emeghas and their Aro-uzo Ohaozara Principal,Dave Nwaeze
Umahi really believe that in Ebonyi State, there are no Bakassi,IPoB or MASSOB Boys, let
those Igbo Quislings go and consult their augúrers.
All Hail Biafra, our God’s Own Land of the Rising Sun!

Of course, Ebony State is the home of our Bakassi,IPoB and MASOB Youths and many Noble and Brave Sons of Ebonyi State were members of top Biafran Army Officer Corps.
Prominent among those Ebonyi Biafran Army Officer Corps ,who survived the war are
    the followings:
    1. Colonel Eze , the Commander of the 12th Division of Biafran Army.
    2. Major Nwankwo ( Aide-de-camp of Maj.Gen.Aguiyi Ironsi), Commander of 62 Brigade of Biafran Army; Umuahia – Ikot Ekpene Axis.
    3. Major Ginger Eke, Commander of 56 Brigade; Arochukwu- Itu-Ikot Ekpene Axis.
4.Major Kenneth Igwe Ogbuofia,Commader of 53 Battalion of 62 Brigade of Umuahia-Ikot Ekpene Axis.
    5.Major Akuma Chukwu.
    6.Major Hannibal Okpani Agu.
    7. Captain Douglas Agada.
    8.Captain Douglas Uche Kalu Obiahu.
    9 Captain O.Amah.
    10.Captain Millicent Oko Ngodo.
    11.Captain Ogbu Okonda.
    12.Captain Oko Chukwu ( Atu).
    13.Marine Officer Eze Ettu.
14.Marine Officer Ogbonnaya Aja Nwachukwu (Cobra) et al.
Mazi Stanley Emegha and his Principal,Governor Dave Umahi must be very mindful of their utterance, else they would be provoking the anger of our Bakassi ,IPoB and MASSOB
Youths ,who are ubiquitous in Ebony State.
Ebonyi State is a Biafran State because the people of Ebonyi are Biafrans..
All Hail Biafra, our God’s Own Land of the Rising Sun!
