All roads will lead to Community Secondary School, Edem, on December 28 and 29, for the maiden edition of Edem Cultural Festival, organised by an Israeli returnee and founder, Women Tower Foundation, (WTF), Eby Asogwa.

An indigene of Edem Ani in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State, the woman rights activist says that the event was inspired by a special Israeli festival called Purim .

According to her, the goal behind the event is to use the festival as a platform to unite Igbo across religious and political affiliations: “We tagged it First Edem Cultural Festival because it is the first time such is happening in Edem history and it promises to be a wow event.

“We need to appreciate and be proud of our unique language, food, dressing, religion, culture and tradition among others. We used to have traditional religion before the whites introduced Christianity to us and it is high time we revived the ones that are good.”
