The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Wednesday, said that it has secured 142 convictions between January and July this year.

Of this number, 13 convictions were in the South East zone.

Head of Operation, Enugu Zonal Head of the agency, Adamu Danmusa, who stated this shortly after a road walk against corruption around Enugu metropolis to mark the African Anti-Corruption Day, also stated that it has traced and recovered illicit funds, as well as properties worth billions of dollars from corrupt Nigerians.

Adamu, who read the address of the Acting Executive Chairman of the commission, Ibrahim Magu, said the level of corruption in Nigeria is shocking, destructive and totally unacceptable if the country must develop.
