The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Innoson Group, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, who was arrested and detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday got a heroic welcome Thursday by members of his staff and kinsmen from Nnewi at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport as he returned.
EFCC officials from Lagos had invaded the Enugu residence of Chukwuma on Tuesday morning, arrested and detained him at their Enugu office before whisking him away to Lagos on Wednesday where they later released him on bail.
The anti-graft agency claimed that Chukwuma was arrested following “his refusal to honour an invitation by the commission having earlier jumped an administrative bail granted him in a case being investigated by the Capital Market and Insurance Fraud Unit of the Commission’s Lagos office.”
But the industrialist and auto manufacturer told newsmen at the airport that he was not guilty of any of the allegations leveled by the EFCC.
“I still maintain that my arrest was illegal, as there was never a period that EFCC under the leadership of Ibrahim Magu invited me for any reason. In due time, I will tell Nigerians the whole truth about this matter. I intend to work faithfully with the EFCC on this alleged investigation so as to clear my name which has been badly damaged, and I will follow up this so-called investigation to its logical conclusion,” he assured.
Narrating how the operatives of the EFCC arrested him, he said: “First of all, I want to thank all Nigerians who stood by me, because GTBank wrote a false petition against me. The EFCC came to my house, jumped over the fence of my compound and whisked me away, but all Nigerians refused to accept this.
“So, I am thanking everybody who fought in this matter because I was surprised when the EFCC jumped into my compound very early in the morning. When I saw them, I thought they were kidnappers or armed robbers, only to notice that they were actually from the EFCC.
“Immediately I saw them around 5:30a.m, I hid for over two hours until when the weather became a little bit clearer around 7:30am, when I was able to see that they were putting on police uniform. Suddenly, I began to hear gunshots and that was when I realized that many policemen had come into my compound, and that was when I came out of my hideout.
“When I came out, they said they wanted to arrest me and that they are from the EFCC. I followed them to their office in Enugu, but up till now, they have not told me my offence.”
The Innoson boss who was later flown to Lagos said that on arrival at the EFCC Lagos office, the operatives asked him to go without telling him what his offence was.
“They arrested me like a criminal, I was putting on the pajamas I woke up in and was taken to the airport on shorts and singlet, from there to Lagos, I am just returning from Lagos now,” he said.
He insisted that he was never invited by the EFCC, saying “nobody invited me, nobody got me informed prior to my arrest. If they had invited me or written any letter to me, I would have honoured the invitation because I am a genuine businessman and industrialist. I don’t have anything in my cupboard to hide. And that is why I insisted they should tell me what I did, but till now I haven’t been told my offence.”
Chukwuma disclosed that when he was released at the EFCC Lagos office, he refused to leave the office until he was told his offence, adding that “they had to beg me before I left.”
He said that he would make sure that the commission explains why they got him arrested, saying that “I have never in my life owed any tax, I pay all my taxes and all my duties. I am a genuine businessman and industrialist, I have a history in my business.”
He also thanked President Muhammadu Buhari, members of the National Assembly, traditional rulers from across the country and other Nigerians for their support in kicking against his illegal arrest, which he pointed out contributed to his release.
Some of his workers and kinsmen who spoke to Sunnewsonline.com at the airport said that they came to show solidarity to their boss and brother over his ordeal in the hands of the EFCC.
The workers described him as genuine businessman who has helped the government to reduce unemployment in the country, saying that his arrest was a wicked act.

It is war in which the enemy- fulani criminal terrorists hidden under the fraudulent political name Nigeria with their criminal mercenaries nickname military, police, efcc, dss etc. do not cares to kill the natives, molest the natives, humiliate the natives, steal God given wealth of the natives etc. Any native of this territory who do not understand the ongoing war and join the war for Liberation of the natives, Freedom of the natives under the natives Disintegrated Republics, will be victim of the war. Innoson is victim of the ongoing war. The last fulani criminal terrorist hidden under the fraudulent political name Nigeria must be erased in the ongoing Revolution War of the natives, so must their criminal mercenaries nickname military, police, efcc, dss etc., collaborators be erased in the ongoing Revolution War of the natives. It is my personal opinion that,Buhari’s purported fight against
corruption is selective at best,an utter hogwash and indeed a
    joke taken too far.
By the way,why are all our Law Enforcement and Security
Agencies headed by Muslims only , and indeed mostly,by the
    Fulanis?
Of course,Buhari’s bogeymen of the DSS , EFCC,ICPC, SSS et al,go about their witch-hunting exercise in a NAZI Fascist style.
Like the Nazi Gestapos went after the Jews,Trade Unionists, the
then German Opposition Parties, the Christian Democrats and
the Communists,so do Buhari’s bogeymen and gendarmes go after the the Igbos, non-Muslims and members of our Opposition
    Parties.
The EFCC coontinues to datain Mallam Sambo, Mazi Metuh and
others, inspite of Federal High Court Orders to have those detaineers released.
Buhari’s EFCC Gendarmes did also cross the red-ine,when they went out their ways to arrest and detain an eight months old Boy Kayode and his lovely mum. Innocent Fani-Kayode Junior and his equally innocent mum were detained for a fucking bloody eight hours without peace talks ( peace talks is our Biafran Army
Jargon for beverages,tit-bits and snacks ).Lol!!
It was only after the Great Oduduwa Lion, Governor Fayose of Ekiti State came roaring and baring his fangs at the Buhari’s morons and gendarmes ,that they set Boy Kayode and his mum free.
But that was a shameless and a dastardly act of kidnapping and indeed a brazen and an utter violation of Young Kayode’s and his mum’s civil rights.
This recent unwaranted abduction and illegal detaintion of Mazi Innocent Chukwuma by Buhari’s EFCC Bogeymen and Gendarmes, does indeed raise some ethical questions.
Perhaps,President Buhari and his men of APC Party, seem to have forgotten that they are supposed to be running a Democratic Government, not Buhari’s Despotic Military Government of the 1980s.
This is a wake up call for the Judicial Branch of our Federal Government, which current is nominal at best and very inactive too, to stand up and to put an end to the ongoing acts of impunity and barzen violations of our common laws and codes of conduct by the Executive Branch under President Buhari.
The Executive,Judicial and Legislative Branches of our Federal
Government are co-equal and none must usurp the duties of the
    other Branches.
That is exactly what is currently happening today. The Attorney General’s Office and the Ministry of Justice seem to have usurpt the duties of the Chief Justice of Nigeria.
If the Executive Branch is unwillng to indict its members for their flagrant acts of corruption, the onus therefore, is upon the Judicial
    Branch to step in immediately.
The following cases involving Buhari’s kinsmen and cronies ought not be swept under the carpet, namely:
    1.Babachir Lawal grass cutter brouhaha.
    2.OKe’s Ikoyigate.
3.Maikanti Baru and NNPC illegal $25bn oil exploration contract scam.
    4.Abdulrahman Mainagate et al.
There should be neither sacred cows nor untouchables in this country. All Nigerians, men and women are equal before our common laws and codes of conduct.
No to the status quo ante bellum!
    Down with Hausa/Fulani Islamic Hegmony!!
All Hail Biafra, the Land of the Rising Sun!!!

It is war. The only thing in existence now in this territory of the natives is Law Of War. Rule of engagement is your Sword as a native of this territory- South East, South South, South West, North East, North West, North Central. Do not wait for the enemy to attack, do not wait for the enemy to comeback, march on the enemy to full conquest on your God given native land. It is Liberation of the natives, Freedom of the natives under the natives Disintegrated Republics in which the last fulani criminal terrorists hidden under the fraudulent political name Nigeria must be erased- dead or alive, so must their criminal mercenaries nickname military, police, efcc, dss etc., collaborators. @ Tai Mtn,you and your fellow silly and uncouth lying Igbophobes, do make me reminisce on Madame Harriet Tubman, who with a perfect aplomb lamented,” I resued many slaves but could have rescued more if they knew that they were slaves.”
The gallant Biafran Armed Forces came marching into the then
    Mid-Western State.They saw,conquered and established a
Republic of Benin for the Mid-Westerners.
But the Edos of Mid-West stabbed us Biafrans on the back and
teamed up with our common enemy to fight us Biafrans during the Biafra-Nigerian War 1967-1970.
The Edos rejected their new Republic of Benin and chose instead our current fucking ‘One Nigeria’.
    What a crying shame indeed!
Here we are today in the same boat .But the mere facts that 90%
of black prostitutes in the Balkans, all over Southern Europe (Italy
and Spain) and in North Africa are all Edo women and girls, speaks
loud about the plight of Edos in Nigeria. The Edos must really be hurting most in Nigeria.
Lot of desperate Edo Youths would willingly live under bondage in Libya rather than at home in our fucking ,cursed and failed moribund country. Thanks to our Hausa/Fulani Muslim Overlords.
Monsieur Tai Mtn should please call on Oba Erediauwa of Benin and also on the Governor of Edo State,Godwin Obaseki to help the Europeans repatriate their stranded Edo Economic Refugees
    and sick prostitutes.
In Greece and Italy alone there are over 100 thausand, of them
The Edo State Government should also erect a quarantine for their
Edo returning prostitutes.Almost all of them are infected with
venereal diseases like Chlamydia, Gonorrhea,Hepatitis C,
Hepes Simplex 2, HIV, Papiloma Virus,Syphilis et al.Their
return is gonna be a disaster not only fo the Edos but for the
    enitre people of Nigeria.
That is a price we pay for our fucking ‘One Nigeria’.
However,Chief Tai Mtn can be rest assured that we Biafrans will loathe having anything whatsoever to do with the Edos. Our
Sovereign Republic of Biafran will be in the South East. But then,
our kith and kin in the North and in the South South and inclusive the Igbo-Akiris of Edo State will be at liberty to join us,if they so
desire. That choice will be solely theirs.
No to the status quo ante bellum!
    Down with Hausa/Fulani Islamic Hegemony!!
