NBC boss, South West, Professor Armstrong Idachaba, who announced the closure in a statement, explained that the station would remain shut for allegedly announcing results of the governorship election in favour of the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Professor Olusola Kolapo Eleka.

Meanwhile, as at the time of filing this report, the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, was yet to announce the result of the election officially.

Efforts to get Fayose’s aides to confirm or deny the rumour were unsuccessful as their phone numbers were not available.
