Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar has urged voters to re-elect the All Progressives Congress (APC) in order to ensure the consolidation of the gains made in turning around the economic fortunes of the country, as well as correcting the mistakes of past administrations.

Abubakar, who was addressing a campaign rally in Warji, warned that the return of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to power would return the country to the dark days, when government policies, projects and programmes that had direct bearing on the life of the common man were not prioritised.

The governor, in a press release by his Press Secretary, Abubakar Al-Sadique, noted that the past successive PDP administrations, in their 16 years, refused to prospect for oil in the “Gongola basin, Benue trough and other northern parts of the country.

He said within two years of President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has discovered oil in the area.

The governor urged the electorate to re-elect the APC in the coming national elections, and warned that if the PDP is allowed to return to power, oil exploration in the North and other parts of the country that have reached this final levels could be reversed.
