Plateau State governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Senator represenating Plateau South, Gen. Jeremiah Useni (retd.) said he will recover his alleged stolen mandate at the Election Tribunal.

He said the legal team has been directed to stepped up efforts and file a petition at the tribunal to challenge the outcome of the election.

Useni spoke during the expanded meeting of the party’s state campaign council to review the outcome of the poll.

“I want the officials and supporters of the party to remain calm, I’ve stepped up the processes to challenge the outcome of the election in the tribunal.

“I appeal to party members not to worry as all hope is not lost, I assure you that we’ll fight to the end. The people’s mandate freely given to us will be recovered,” he said.

He assured that he is absolutely committed to the cause and will not let the people of the  state down.

Useni also promised to continue working for the unity of the PDP, adding that he will give purposeful guidance and not allow the  party  to disintegrate. He said there was an  overwhelming evidence at hand to institute and pursue the case at the tribunal. 

Regardless, former governor of  the state  and the senator representing Plateau North, Jonah David Jang,  expressed strong support in the outcome of the elections.
