Ex-British Light Heavyweight boxing champion, Peter Oboh has congratulated governorGodwin Obaseke over his victory in the just concluded Edo Gubernatorial election held in the state.

Governor Obaseki contested against APC candidate, Pastor Ize-Iyamu and others whom he defeated to run for a second time in office.

The former ex- Commonwealth light heavyweight boxing champion explained that Ize-Iyamu as a man of God did not seek the face of God by distributing palliatives to the hungry Edo indigenes.
“I think the title, pastor Iyamu, did not work for him and his party.

I know during the lockdown Ize-Iyamu had given palliatives regularly in great quantities in Edo state, it could have helped in many ways.

“For the ADC candidate Queen Mabel Oboh, she would have done better if she added the right backup to her clamour. In Nigeria, with out the right backup from the right party at the very time it is needed, it is almost impossible to come out victorious. What the late afro beat singer, Fela called ‘government magic’ is still working in Nigeria.

Oboh, who is now an Apostle of Christ, however pleaded with Pastors and Imams to pray very hard for voters in the country to stop selling their votes for money.

“In the last Edo state governorship election, it was alleged that many voters sold their votes for money.

“I think Nigerians have to be delivered from the love of free money. And II suggest the electronics voting system should be introduced. I congratulate the governor elect, but i implore him to upgrade sports in the state.”
