The crisis recorded on last Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections did not go down well with Youngstar Development Initiative (YDI), as it has condemned the violence,  adding that such act desecrates the country’s electoral exercise.
In a statement, yesterday, its Media and Communication Officer, Evarista Daudu, who congratuted Nigerians on their participation, urged security personnel to fish out and squarely deal with perpetrators.
Her words: “Youngstars Foundation, VoteNotFight (VNF) hotline dedicated to monitoring election situation across the country and we also received calls from eletorate on cases of violence in some polling units.
“7% of callers reported burning of ballot papers and 43% of of callers reported intimidation of both INEC staff and the electorate by hoodlum and thugs.
“After the general election, we join other well meaning Nigerians and Civil Society Organisations to demand for an open inquiry to probe and ascertain the causes of the violence and most importantly to prosecute all those involved in perpetuating any act of violence.
“Different security agencies have reported arresting persons alleged to have contributed to undermining the presidential elections, it is important to state that all such persons must be brought to book,” she said.
