The Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Mera, has appealed to the British government to return some of the artifacts of Kabi Kingdom missing during the colonial era.

He made the request during the courtesy visit of the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Cantriona Laing, to his palace.

The Emir, represented by the High Chief of Argungu Emirate Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan, explained that some artifacts got missing during the colonial reign. He also condoled the British government and its people over the death of Queen Elizabeth II saying the history of Nigeria would be incomplete without the role of the  United Kingdom.

Laing thanked him for the warm welcome she and her team received at the Emir’s palace, saying Governor Abubakar Bagudu had told her many things about the state in the areas of economy, history, and how the state are united by four Emirates.

The envoy also visited Kanta Museum, Wacot Rice Mill in Argungu, where she interacted with management and staff.
