The Eze Ndigbo Ghana, HRM Eze Dr Chukwudi Ihenetu has  called on President Muhammadu Buhari to listen to  clamour of protesting Nigerian youths by matching his words with action.
Eze Ihenetu made the statement while reacting to president Buhari’s speech in which the president admitted that the requests of the youths have been heard loud and clear.
In his advice to the president, Ihenetu described him as father  of the nation and as such owe the citizens  good governance which covers peace, security, infrastructures, developement, good education, good health sector, quality water and Power, all base on the promises he made to them  in 2015 during his electioneering campaign.
He added that anything short of this requests was bridge of that trust and as such, the youths has the right to demand fulfilment of this promises through peaceful protests.
He reminded the president that when he took office, he became president to all and not just a section of the country.
On the complains of the  youths to Mr. president, the royal father urges the president  to wake up to the task of meeting the demands of all Nigerians. In his words, the Eze said; President Buhari should ensure  that teachers and other workers are well paid, that security  aparatus are in order, community policing are put in place, entrenchment of true federalism is implemented, regular power supply is guaranteed and  also ensuring that youths occupied at least 70 per cent of elective and appointments in his cabinet, that all the country’s mineral resources  are well  utilised in such a way that it would attract foreign investors,” he said.
While commisurating with the youths who have borne the brunt of bad governance  and whom some lost their lives  during the protests, Eze Ihenetu prayed for repose of their souls and fortitudes for their parents and guardians  to bear the loss.
In his words, Eze Ihenetu said he was sorry that the elders who are in the helms of governance  have failed them. “That our leaders both past and present are not thinking of future of Nigeria and that of the youths.”  He appealed to the youths to continue to engage the government peacefully  and shun the bad eggs who may want to infiltrate them and spoil their good works through act of thuggry and vandalism. He said if all the infrastructures are destroyed out of anger, it is taxpayers money that is wasted.
He thus appealed.to the youths to be focused  until true change is attained in Nigeria.
On how they can permanently effect their desired change, Ihenetu urges the youths to team up by retiring the old folks through ballot box in 2023.
He also appealed to the youths to stop killing security operatives because most of them became corrupt because of poor salary and poor welfare packages  adding that  with what has been attained so far which includes  disbanding  of SARS, people  in authorithy would now think of how to truely reform the police.
