Nigeria’s Shot Put Athlete, Chukwuebuka Enekwechi has showered praises on Edo State spectators during the National Athletics Championship held in Benin.

Enekwechi recently became Nigeria’s record holder in men’s Shot Put event winning his 3rd national title with a season’s best of 21.25m. He was surprised how spectators could show support to spur an athlete to victory and hopes this show of sportsmanship continues among them.

The bodily-built American based athlete recounted how he was always given an ovation, not just while competing, but also when entering the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium or making a warm-up throw and he has claimed that those chants are what propelled him to victory.
