In a bid to promote Igbo culture in the Diaspora and to cement the age long relationship between  Igbo in Ghana and the Akuapem people in Ghana, the Eze Ndigbo Ghana and the Assistant Publicity Secretary Ndieze Ndigbo in the Diaspora, HRM Eze Dr Chukwudi Ihenetu, his cabinet and palace elders  on  behalf of Igbo community Ghana, recently paid royal courtesy visit to the newly installed paramount King of Akuapem Kingdom, HRM Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III.

In his remarks, HRM Dr Ihenetu described HRM AKuffo III as  a wise great ruler who will help move his community forward.

Earlier HRM Dr Ihenetu was received by Queens mother, sub chief and other titlemen with royal drum.
Going down memory, HRM Dr Ihenetu recalled that according to oral tradition, Igbo and  Akuapem people share common ancestry.

“By oral tradition, we learnt from history that Akuapem people share common origin with Ndigbo people of South East Nigeria. Since we came to Ghana, we have been relating with them as best as we can. So when the former king died and a new one coronated,  I and my cabinet on behalf of Igbo community in Ghana decided to pay him royal homage and solidarity visit to congratulate him on his installations. as new king and to resolidify and cement our long term relationship.

“I’m glad that the king received us very well and promised that relationship between Igbo and the people of Ghana will remain forever, even as we use the opportunity to solidify Ghana/ Nigeria traditional
relations”, the Royal father said.

HRM AKuffo III commended HRM Dr Ihenetu and his entourage for their visit and wish them well.
in his closing remarks, HRM Dr Ihenetu call on Nigerians living in Ghana to continue to be law abiding by obeying laws of the land. He said such gesture will better the relationship between Nigeria and Ghana.
