Enjoying long life

Power from Above Mark 16:17

What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good? Keep thy tongue from evil and thy lips from speaking guile.Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

This scripture reveals four important steps to long life and enjoying good days on earth. Step one, keep your tongue from speaking anything evil.  Watch your confessions and what you say daily. It is so amazing how much trouble many people stir up for themselves simply because they do not watch what they say.

Jacob was responsible for causing the untimely death of Rachel because of what he said when Laban came looking for his gods. Rachel had stolen Laban’s goods when they were leaving Laban’s house. When Laban found out that his gods were missing and Jacob had secretly left him with his daughters; Laban pursued them, caught up with them and accused Jacob of stealing his gods. Jacob then made a proclamation:

Genesis 31:32 says “with whomsoever thou findest thy gods, LET HIM NOT LIVE: before our brethren discern thou what is thine with me, and take it to thee. For Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them.

Jacob’s words cut short the life of Rachel. She died at the point of giving birth to Benjamin (Gen. 35:18-19). This was clearly not the will of God. This is why the psalmist says those who desire life and love to see good days must keep their mouth for speaking evil.  Watch your words; don’t say what you don’t desire, even jokingly. The realm of the spirit does not understand jokes. If you say jokingly what you don’t desire, except you destroy such a seed in the name of Jesus, it will yield a harvest which you do not desire.

Take time to break every power of negative confessions you might have made over yourself and on the life of others. Also break the power of negative words that might have been spoken over you or your loved ones in Jesus name.

Psalm 34: 12-14 says “what man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good? Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

The second step to enjoying a good life is departing from evil. Quit any lifestyle and practices that you know are evil. The Bible teaches that a man will reap whatsoever he sows, whether good or evil. Any evil deed which you do today becomes your harvest for tomorrow.

Thirdly, we are encouraged to do good. The first good everyone should do is to accept the sacrifice of Jesus and be born again and make a decision to live by his word. Jesus also taught us to be good to all even to those who despitefully use us. Never repay evil for evil. Every good which a man does, the same shall the Lord repay him again.

Fourth, seek peace and pursue it. Be at peace with all men. Avoid strife and refuse to enter into fights. Be willing to loose grounds rather than fighting because of selfishness. Be willing to suffer wrong for peace sake.

Hebrews 12:14 says “follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Chapter 13:20-21 says “now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

When you follow peace with all men, the God of peace will make you perfect in every good work to do His will; He will work in you that which is well pleasing in His sight through Jesus Christ. Amen!

If you would like to turn a new leaf and accept Jesus as your saviour so as to be part of those that will be raptured, then say these words after me.

“Lord Jesus, I open my heart to you, I ask for your forgiveness from all my sins, I receive you as lord over my life. Holy Spirit, come into my heart, make me a new creation today. Thank you father for saving my soul, I am born again now in Jesus name.”

If you prayed that prayer you are saved now it is that simple. I encourage you to start studying the bible, find a good church, start attending and begin to spend time in prayer. If there is any sinful habit which you are involved in, quit it immediately.

You can also call any of the lines here or send us an email so that we know how to help you grow.

Last Line: Have you ever wondered what it means to give your life to Christ and be saved? Are you born again? God sent Jesus to die for all your sins so that you will not have to be punished for the same. To be saved means to simply accept Christ Jesus as your substitutionary sacrifice for your sins and to make him Lord over your life. Surrender your life to Christ today by asking Jesus to forgive you your sins; ask Him to come into your life and to make you a new person. If you are facing challenges and require counseling/prayers do not hesitate to contact me. I will be willing to assist as much as I can.
