A court in Enugu State has granted bail to two women including a staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) who were arraigned for selling INEC Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs).

The court also adjourned their case to February 15 for further hearing.

Police Detectives serving in the State CID of Enugu State Command, on January 31, following her involvement in the viral social media video clip, in which she was seen and alleged to be selling INEC PVCs at the sum of N1,000, at Emene Enugu. 

Her arrest led to the arrest of the second suspect and staff of INEC, 38-year-old Nkiruka Patience Obinna, alleged to had given the said Cards to the first suspect for distribution to the actual owners.

The State Police Command after concluding investigation on the matter according to the State Police Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe (DSP), charged the case to court, in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act, 2022, and the suspects arraigned accordingly.
