Chairma, Nsukka Local Government Area, Enugu State, Walter Ozioko, has decried alleged falsehood being perpetrated by those who want to run his administration down.

He described the allegations as fabricated fallacies from the pit of hell which should be disregarded.

In a statement signed by his media aide, Ejike Okpe, Ozioko said contrary to stories making the rounds that the Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, said he was disappointed in him, the relationship between both of them remains cordial like that of father and son.

“Considering the frivolity of the claims in the report, one was tempted to allow it frizzle away, but in order to put the records straight, to adequately inform the populace and keep them in high spirits, the council wishes to posit that: the write up and all its claims are fabricated fallacies from the pit of hell which should be disregarded. The public, should, therefore, jettison, discard and cast it into the waste bin.

“The people’s Mayor is thankful to the authors of the write up for making him more popular, more celebrated and even closer to his boss, the governor, whose eagle eyes spotted him (the Mayor) out of the lot. Ozioko is not distracted by the rumour monger claiming that he is indirectly eyeing the House of Representatives position or any other political position; instead, he is solely concentrating on providing the democratic dividends to the people of Nsukka council that he loves so much.

“No one can cause disaffection between Ozioko and any political leader in Enugu State, especially the governor who he loves so much and who is obviously pleased with his laudable achievements in Nsukka council within barely 10 months in Office. One of the biggest legacies bequeathed on Nsukka council by Governor Ugwuanyi remains his support for the emergence of Ozioko as executive chairman of the elite council at this juncture of its history, as the Mayor is changing the narratives positively in the council, in all fronts,” he said in the statement.

“No amount of blatant lies machinated by the disgruntled elements can dissuade, distract or sway the people’s Mayor from the good works he is doing in Nsukka council and the emergence of Amos Amadi Agbo and Christy Onah as in-coming members of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Nsukka West and Nsukka East state constituencies, respectively, is the majority decision of the PDP delegates who voted in the primary and never a personal decision of the Mayor,” he said.
