Gburuscare Initiative in collaboration with Awgu Local Government Area in Enugu State have concluded plans for a massive free medical outreach targeted at 1500 weak and elderly persons in four development centres in the area.

The Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Pedro Nwankwo, who made this known on Thursday said the medical outreach was part of government effort towards ensuring that medical services reach the weak and elderly in rural communities in the local government.

Nwankwo said that in Agwu Central Development Centre, the outreach will hold at Agwu council secretariat on Tuesday September 7, while in Anike Development Centre, it will hold at Central School, Nkwe on Saturday, September 11.

For Mbanabo South Development Centre, the outreach will hold at Central School, Owelli Court on September 18, while in Mbanabo North, the event will hold at Central School, Ihe on September 25.

He further explained that the outrerch which will start by 10am on each day will cover medical lab services, dental services, physiotherapy services, medical consulation and treatments.

Gburuscare Initiative is a team of volunteers assembled by the Technical Assistant to Enugu State Governor on healthcare, Mr Darlington Ugwuegbe. The team is made up of dentists, physiotherapists, pharmacists, nurses, doctors and medical laboratory scientists.
