Moved by spate of killings across Nigeria including recent attack on Police Command headquarters and  Prison in Owerri, Imo State  by Gun men where  inmates were allegedly set free, the Eze Ndigbo Ghana, HRM Dr Chukwudi Ihenetu has seeked for divine intervention even as he call on Nigerians at home and Diaspora to use this period of Easter to pray for peace.

In his Easter message which began with family worship at his palace in Accra, Ghana, Eze Ihenetu said Christ died for all and with his resurrection, open way for those exercising fate in him to be alive.

He explained that God hates  shedding of blood and as such Nigerians should use the crucification of Jesus Christ as opportunity to stop the killings. Eze Ihenetu said unless this clarion call is headed, peace and progress will be far from the country.

In a statement, the royal father whose intervention in Nigerian traders and Ghana trade Union crisis resulted in peaceful agreement, expressed surprise that Nigeria which was once described as the happiest county on earth was fast becoming a war zone.

He said the attack on the two key security facilities in his state, Imo was indication that no one was safe in the region.

While calling on Nigerian security operatives to be alive to their duty by being proactive, the royal father said proper intelligence gathering would have nipped the attack in the bud.

Further, Eze Ihenetu call on Nigerians to use the Easter period to seek God favour by praying for forgiveness and peace to return to the country, adding that killings and shedding of blood only brings backwardnes. He added that with news like these reaching Nigerians abroad, they will be scared of coming home to invest in the country.

While commiserating with two Nigerians formost activists, Messer’s Yinka Odumakin and Innocent Chukwuma who died on Saturday, Eze Ihenetu prays for God to give the family fortitude to bear the loss.
