The chances of All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Mr. Godwin Obaseki received a boost yesterday, following his endorsement by Etuedoseghe, a socio-cultural organization in Edo State, made up of chiefs from the palace of the Oba of Benin, farmers Union and professionals led by the Esogban of Benin Kingdom, Chief David Edebiri.
Explaining that the organisation was endorsing him following what they described as the laudable role he played in the Governor Adams Oshiomhole-led administration, the group urged Obaseki to build an international market in Edo South when he is elected governor.
Esogban who also is the Odionwere of Benin Kingdom, noted: “we are not a partisan body in the sense that we don’t attend meetings of political parties but we are not oblivious to the good works of some political parties and the bad work of some other political parties. Consequently, we have the right to choose if those wanting a particular thing are more than one.
“So Etuodeseghe at a meeting held in my house, unanimously voted to support the candidature of Godwin Obaseki of the APC. This is the same place we endorsed Oshiomhole and today we are all proud of him. We believe that Godwin will work more than the Comrade Governor”.
The APC leaders at the event were led by the Senatorial leader of the party in Edo South, Gentleman Amegor and the Director General of Obaseki Campaign, Osarodion Ogie.
Expressing joy for the endorsement, Obaseki vowed to make the state greater than it is today.
