JaySynths born Chisom Obinna Onyeke, is making wave in the music industry as the producer of “Case”, a hugely popular song by Teni.
The renowned hitmaker also has to his credit Wait by Teni, Power Rangers by Teni, Daz How Star Do, In a Fix By Ice Prince X Mr Eazi, Doh by Victor AD, Obiaato by Kuami Eugene and many more.
In this interview with Saturday Sun, JaySynths shares his journey to the music industry, his aspirations, COVID-19 experience and lots more.
Can you tell us more about yourself; state of origin and professional background?
Can you give an insight of your educational achievements and work experiences?
I was born and raised in Onitsha, Anambra State, Nigeria. I began my education at All Saints Primary School, Onitsha, before preceding to Government Secondary School, Karshi, Abuja. I graduated from University of Abuja with a degree in Political Science.
Many regarded 2020 a lost year. What are the gains and losses for you and for your showbiz business?
Build more on my brand.

What were the early challenges of your career and how did you scale the hurdles?
The early challenges were being able to create world music. But I had to learn the techniques on how to achieve a good sound. And it worked for me as soon as I got the techniques right!
What do you do to sharpen your talent as a beat maker?
Everyday I try to create something iconic. That improves and sharpens me enough.
What motivated you to go into music as full time business?
The love for it period.
What are the big lessons you have learnt about doing music as a business in Nigeria?
A lot of lessons, but the biggest one of them is being unique and being relevant else You will be forgotten.
What are the big lessons of life you learned so far?
Always be you and never seek for validation when you know your worth.
If you ain’t doing music, what would you be doing?
Maybe working in an oil company or a reputable organization. I don’t like stress.

Aside Case by Teni, I also made Daz How Star do by Skiibii, Power Rangers by Teni, Ozana by Hotkid and many more.

Who are your favorite Nigerian music stars and why?
They are all my favorite.
How has it been working with different Nigerian music stars?
It’s been tasking and also fun.
What do you think should be done to take the Nigerian music industry to the next level?
They should take producers more seriously. We actually should be the richest in the music industry but we are always not regarded. But I’m sure that would change soon.
What is your philosophy of life?
What should fans expect from you the rest part of 2021?
Lots of music because, I have been working with lots of talents and also making music with some big names. And I also have an EP coming later this year.
